Acrylic Painting classes - FALL 2025

Learn the basics in acrylics from two professional artists with over 50 years combined experience in art education and painting. All Levels....beginners welcome! This is perfect for those who want to pick up the brush and gain painting experience in a relaxed and inspiring atmosphere!
This season, we want to offer some lessons in our classes again, so we are offering a hybrid class…a hybrid of both structured lessons and of ‘paint what you want.’
Here’s how it’ll work: for 2 of the 4 weeks, we’ll provide a lesson to follow along with. For the other 2 weeks, come prepared with a reference photo or an idea to paint what you want to work on.
So to prepare, begin looking for things to paint. Building a reference photo file is very helpful. You can find inspiration from master painters from the past, or photographs of subject matter you enjoy. If you tend to follow abstract work, start looking at what is out there, it is fascinating what you might find to inspire your own work.
Beginners will be assisted to choose things that will build their skills and still allow them to paint their choice of style and imagery.
You’ll come with your own format & size of canvas, up to 16 x 20 (this is perhaps the largest size, guaranteeing that there’s enough space for everyone.) And, always bring your own paints, brushes etc.
If you are new to painting, we will send you a supply list of paint colors that mix well and some tried-and-true brush choices to begin with.
We will answer any of your other supply questions by email.
