Simple, beautiful color…a quantum subject that could take a lifetime of study! In one day we can’t begin to tap so deeply! This workshop is less about the color wheel and has a more hands-on approach to the topic. Students can come away with a new understanding of color-mixing to further their creative endeavors! Through the exploration of color exercises and mixing, we’ll apply our discoveries to a small painting. This workshop is for beginners, intermediate or anyone who wishes to learn more about color!

A new class offering inspired by the irreverent style of artist Douglass Truth and his book, “Revolution of Flowers.” In this fun and worthy workshop, which is geared to beginners, you’ll paint on black canvas to achieve an unusual effect! However, you do not have to be a beginner to get a lot from your time spent painting with Douglass Truth!

Two local artists lead this unique workshop together at ASiF Studios in Grass Valley CA.

This class is geared to beginners (or anyone) who wants to learn how to paint water.

The instructor will share some steps to show how she began to learn to paint the Yuba.
Working small, (12”x12”) students will paint along with the instructor, step-by-step, on a painting that has key river elements such as rocks, river water with reflections and depth and foliage.
You are responsible for purchasing your 12 x 12 canvas, but I supply the paints and lend brushes if you don’t have your own.
